Nationwide protest: Police promises to protect protesters
Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, has agreed to provide security for the February 6th protest that is slated to hold at the National Stadium, Lagos.
This was disclosed after a meeting with the organizers of the protest where the Commissioner explained the reasons they were against the protest; which was to prevent hooligans and touts hijacking the protest which could result to fracas to the protesters coupled with the pro-government group that would also protest that day.
In his words, 'We have resolved to provide security for them. It is our responsibility and we won’t shy away from it. We will ensure trouble makers do not hijack the process.'
